Lang Co festival takes place at weekend

The Lang Co Festival 2011 – the World Beautiful Bay will be held in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on July 9-10 to promote tourism and encourage investment in the Lang Co-Chan May economic zone. This year’s festival aims to honour cultural values, landscapes and eco-environment and affirm position and prospects of the Lang Co-Chan May economic-tourist zone in the province’s socio-economic development orientations in the coming years, said Phan Tien Dung, Director of the Thua Thien-Hue Culture, Sports and Tourism Department.

Festival promotes culture, tourism

More than 10,000 tourists and locals gathered on Lang Co Beach in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on July 9 for the opening of the Lang Co Festival 2011.  The two-day event, which aims to feature the natural and cultural beauty of Lang Co – Canh Duong and introduce its potential for tourism, is just one of the activities planned to prepare for the National Year 2012 which will be hosted by Thua Thien-Hue.

Vietnam Coastal Village Festival held in Ninh Thuan

More than 500 artisans, artists and athletics from Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa provinces are attending the Vietnam Coastal Village Festival which opened in the south-central province of Ninh Thuan on August 2.

Festival promises ethnic delight

Different tour packages will be presented during a festival at the Moc Chau Plateau in the north-eastern province of Son La from August 27 to September 2. Entitled Qua Mien Tay Bac – Son La 2011 (Visiting the North-eastern Region-Son La 2011), the festival aims at promoting tourism in the province, especially Moc Chau Plateau.

Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange in Hoi An

Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange in Hoi An The ninth Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange event in Hoi An will be held on August 20-21.  The event is co-organized by the People’s Committee of Hoi An City, the Japanese Embassy and the Japan Foundation for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam. The opening program will be held at 7 p.m. on August 20 in An Hoi Statue Garden with Japanese and Vietnamese singing, dancing, classical opera and lively scenes performed by artists from Vietnam and Japan.

Cultural exchange strengthens ties with Japan

The ninth Vietnam-Japan Cultural Exchange began in the central city of Hoi An on Aug. 20.  The event is jointly organised by the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam , the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam (JF), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Hoi An municipal People’s Committee.

First Mong panpipe festival opens in Ha Giang

The first Mong pan pipes festival, the biggest of its kind in Vietnam, opened in the Dong Van Stone Plateau on August 21 to mark the 120th founding anniversary of the northernmost province of Ha Giang. During the two-day festival, audiences had the chance to enjoy traditional pan pipes music through a variety of performances including the Legend of Pan pipes, Melody of a New Day and Dancing to the Sound of Pan pipes.
